REGISTERED NURSE/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/NURSE PRACTITIONER Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) is a dynamic and vibrant four-year public college located in the beautiful Berkshire Hills in Western Massachusetts. MCLA is the Commonwealth's public liberal arts college of the Massachusetts State University System. The College, as part of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges, blends a liberal arts education with hands-on experience and professional programs across a range of disciplines. The full time Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner reports directly to the Director of Health Services. The position is for 37.5 hours per week for 10 months that begins in August and ends on a specific corresponding date in June and is responsible for all nursing duties including triage, health assessment, medication administration, and assisting the healthcare providers while maintaining a professional, confidential and organized health service operation. The Registered Nurse/NP will triage clinic patients and provide professional acute care to students, faculty and staff emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. Requirements: A minimum of a professional diploma in nursing. BSN, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant preferred. Licensed to practice in Massachusetts. Experience with patient care of traditional college age adult clients, preferably in a college health setting. Ability to work cooperatively with, have understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, culture, disability, religious and sexual orientation populations among college students, faculty and staff. Valid certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). Must possess knowledge of current standards of practice, including State and Federal laws and regulations that apply to the provision of health care such as the Nurse Practice Act, HIPAA and Universal Precaution standards; community health principles including: communicable disease epidemiology, prevention and control per the local and state public health departments and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control; and crisis intervention, drug and alcohol addiction/use, eating disorders. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
