System Analyst/Engineer - Electronics Platforms

Senior Engineer/System AnalystOverviewIndividual Markets Business Technology Services at Guardian is seeking a Software Engineer System Analyst who will be responsible for all Electronic platform artifacts, including vendor supported platforms, such as Ebix, Firelight, & Affirm, within the Individual Markets Annuity organization.
This position will play a key role in providing support for delivery teams, business users, DTCC, Distributors and Electronic vendor partners for feed testing and technology enhancements.
In addition, this role will serve as a point of contact for production support, which will require strong problem-solving skills, along with the ability to activate various risk mitigation recovery plans, based on issue severity and impact to our service level agreements (SLAs).
You Will:
Be responsible for serving as an intermediary between Guardian, vendors, distributors, and project teams for the Annuity eApp Implementations.
Work with business owners and technology team to analyze, define, and translate business requirements into technical specifications for all electronic platform artifacts (e.
g.
, DPfA, PPfA, forms, etc).
Requirements could include but not limited to:
Data Mapping/Forms TaggingVTXml (tool used for tagging)Data configurationUI/Business configurations (Screen/Workflows)Product mapping/configurationsBusiness & System rulesDTCC inbound/outbound filesFormsXMLMaintain Master Technical requirement documentation.
Be responsible for development, compliance, documentation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training documentation and materials within their domain.
Partner with the Technology and ESQA (testing team) to analyze, configure, acceptance/unit test, and provide implementation support when needed.
Identify project tasks required to support a successful implementation, including performing impact analysis, verbally communicating complex issues, validating production readiness and communicating implementation statuses.
Provide in-depth and sophisticated analyses with interpretive thinking to define problems, develop innovative solutions and influence strategic functional decisions.
Engage with various areas to resolve problems in production and non-production environments as they arise.
Collaborating with team members to understand the issue, recommend solutions, escalate production issues, and provide full transparency into current workload.
Demonstrate a functional understanding of user experience, electronic feeds, order entry platforms, industry initiatives, web services, website operations, innovative technologies, and industry workflows.
Understand and troubleshoot downstream impact of implemented development.
Review the electronic platform vendor release documentation and provide guidance on updates required.
Provide leadership in technical problem solving by applying insight derived from a highly developed skill and knowledge base and coordinate impacts and dependencies across application teams.
Attend monthly EBIX Carrier and Distributor calls.
Review release candidates and determine business and system impacts.
Attend DTCC, IRI member calls.
Create business requirements, if/when applicableKeep all new business forms current.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Participating in the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies.
Provide trending and related support for production issues as needed.
Being available to provide on-call support after hours and on weekends if/when necessary.
Perform other duties and/or assist with other projects as assigned.
You Have:

years of Business-related experience required.
5
years of Financial Business Analyst or System Analysis experience preferred.
In-depth Annuity business and/or technical knowledge preferred but not mandatory.
Experience with Ebix, iPipeline, Insurance Technologies, DTCC, DST, or other Electronic Business financial service systems/technology vendors desired/preferred.
In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycles including Agile development and testing.
Must be able to think strategically and evaluate short-, medium-, and long-term optionsSelf-directed and proactive, able to think beyond the immediate challenge and anticipate using exceptional judgment and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrate strong methodical analytical skills considering different data points, patterns, trends, and/or themes to support system requirements and identify root cause and issue resolutionExcellent written and verbal communications, including presentation creation and delivery, organization, analytical, planning skills.
Excellent team collaboration skills, with the ability to build consensus, influencing across all levels in the organization, to include experience in dealing with multiple projects impacting different processes within the Individual Markets 'arena', multi-functional teams, and ability to coordinate across teams in a large matrix organization environment.
Ability to learn and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Guardian's business and technology.
Working knowledge of existing, new, and emerging technologies in a changing technical environment.

00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position.
The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
