As we continue to expand our services, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Travel Critical Care Unit team.
Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care Unit. The ICU Nurse is responsible for providing specialized care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. Working in a high-acuity environment, the ICU nurse assesses, monitors, and manages patients with complex medical conditions, ensuring timely interventions, continuity of care, and optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, neurological status, and hemodynamic parameters to detect changes or deterioration in condition.
Monitor and manage mechanical ventilation, including ventilator settings, oxygenation, and airway management, in collaboration with respiratory therapists and physicians.
Administer medications, intravenous infusions, and blood products as prescribed, titrating doses and monitoring responses to optimize therapeutic outcomes and minimize adverse effects.
Perform advanced nursing procedures, such as arterial line insertion, central venous catheterization, and hemodynamic monitoring, following evidence-based protocols and maintaining aseptic technique.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social workers, to develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate interventions, and facilitate communication among team members.
Respond rapidly to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrests, respiratory distress, and other life-threatening situations, initiating appropriate interventions, and coordinating resuscitation efforts according to established protocols.
Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records, documenting assessments, interventions, responses to treatment, and changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and facilitate communication among healthcare providers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required depending on the setting.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in critical care or intensive care nursing preferred.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize tasks efficiently in a high-stress environment.
Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
