Supervisor - Outpatient Lab

DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Provides training and continuing education to all outpatient lab phlebotomy/registration staff, including billing and coding. Continually improves the quality, appropriateness, and relevance of outpatient registration and ordering of tests. Responsible for the supervision and direction of all outpatient lab phlebotomy/registration and ordering of test for Berkshire Health Systems and outlying drawing stations. Assist with solving problems related to billing and coding compliance as related to Medicare regulations. Educate staff ion registration updates, billing and coding requirements. Work with managers of other areas to meet their needs and promote streamlining of outpatient lab services. Works with staff to address and correct issues as needed. Orient and train all new hires in outpatient lab registration and provide ongoing education for existing staff. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience: Working knowledge of registration, ordering of lab tests, coding and billing required. Understanding of lab, admitting, B/AR and Medical Records Meditech modules preferred. Ability to work closely with other departments and staff. Computer literacy required, Meditech preferred. Education and Training: High School Diploma, College courses preferred, knowledge of HIS/LIS required License, Certification # Registration: N/A Other Requirements: Must be organized, analytical and possess proven leadership skills. Must possess the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and rationally and work under deadline pressures. Must be willing to accept additional responsibilities/duties as position requires. Must be self motivated and able to work with a lot of autonomy, possessing skills in problem solving and decision making. Previous experience with teaching/training/supervision preferred. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and interpersonal relationship skills required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
